Richard has been in private practice since 1981. Boeckman entered private practice after 10 years in the United States Marine Corps as a Line Office and a Judge Advocate. Boeckman is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

Boeckman is the firm's primary civil litigator. He has been County Counselor for Barton County for the past six years.

Graduated with honors, Washburn University School of Law, 1978; Managing Editor, Washburn Law Journal, 1978; received Navy commendation medal for work as Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps.
